MSN - “I’m the news”

Challenge

Communicate news and features of MSN portal through a 2.0 activation and viralization campaign in the Other Latam region (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and rest of Latin America).

Solution

Quickmedia develops an application connected to Facebook which, after previously requesting user’s authorization, extracts information from their profile and their friends’ via Facebook Connect. The application allows interacting with a simulated MSN portal in which the user and their friends are the protagonists of the news. To achieve a better customization of the application, the user can choose among their friends who will be part of each piece of news, as well as the photo to illustrate it from their albums on Facebook. This way, the user can master MSN portal functionalities in a fun and innovative way.

Before finishing, the user can download a .jpg image of the simulated portal and share the application and each piece of news. This last action allows viralizing as friends who are mentioned in the news are directly notified when it is shared.

Viralization is complemented with a banner campaign in the MSN network.

Over 26,000 visits in only 14 days since launching.
